CT Scan & EEG Update

Hey guys. This is going to be super quick, but I wanted to let you know the results of Ethan's tests from yesterday. We haven't spoken with a neurologist yet, so we just know the basics, based on what the ICU fellow has told us.

The CT Scan was NORMAL!! I think the neurologist expected that there would be some abnormalities, based on a clinical exam of Ethan, but we've learned to not really have expectations anymore... Needless to say, we're thrilled!

The EEG also had a bit of good news in that it did NOT show any of the diffuse slowing that the 1st one showed. It did, however, show some irritability in the left temporal lobe. This was also noticed in his 1st EEG, but we're not sure what this means. As of right now, the neurologists are not concerned with the results, but they do want to follow him closely after we're discharged.

That's all for now. We've been moved to a different room within the PCICU and have had conversations regarding moving back out onto the floor. We're making progress, and thanking God for every small step along the way.

Awesome. This made me smile. I look forward to Ethan playing in the sandbox I just built.

Side note: The captcha word that I have to type in to submit my comment is CHEAR. Kind of ironic, I think.

Joye & Jeramie, I have been following your blog, and we have been thinking and praying for you all. We wish we could visit but Garrett has a cold so we don't want to risk exposing anyone. We received a card for you in our mailbox and if you want someone to pick it up have someone come by anytime to get it. We can't wait for the Mullis family to come back home so we can finally meet Ethan.
Your neighbors, Pam, Randall & Garrett

What great news! We had a similar scare after Audrey's second surgery, but were also blessed in that it was just a scare. Kids are super tough!

Thanks for the update. My co-workers ask me every morning if I have heard from Baby Ethan. I have shared your story with them and ask them to forward your prayer requests for their prayer partners. We'll spread the word and continue to pray.

Joye....a friend made me aware of your situation during a very critical time for you guys. I just wanted you to know that many of my friends, and myself, have held your family in constant prayer. I have three boys, the youngest who we almost lost at six weeks due to a bacterial infection in his blood. I know how gut wrenching it is to test and wait, so I pray for your inner strength quite a bit. Each time I check your blog, I can just picture the Father holding you all in His hands. It has been an honor to pray for you! ~ Kimberly Lamar
